Fantasy Movie News: Prince Caspian wins Teen Choice Award!

Narnia Web: The 10th annual Teen Choice Award nominees they were announced back in June. Recently "Prince Caspian" won the Choice Movie Action Adventure category! Sadly Ben Barnes lost out to Drake Bell from "Superhero Movie" in the Choice Movie Breakout Male category.

Fantasy Movie News: More Hobbit Movie News

SciFi Wire has more news on the new Hobbit movie production. Director Guillermo del Toro plans for directing two parts of Lord of the Rings prequel films. The first will be based solely on J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Hobbit". In the second one del Toro plans to tell the story between the events of Hobbit and the beginning of Fellowship Of The Ring.

Fantasy Movie News: No more Dark Materials movies?

There might not be another movie based on the Pullman's "His Dark Materials" after the accusations from American religious groups. Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, Pullman said he did "not know yet" if the film would be made. He said he remained "hopeful" The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass would be made into films.

Entertainment Weekly announced The Lord of the Rings trilogy a second greatest movie classic of all times. The winner was a movie by Quentin Tarantino: Pulp Fiction. The only other movie that made it to the EW Top 25 Movies was Shrek.

If C. S. Lewis and J. R. R. Tolkien are sharing their afterlives in some place which affords them a window on our world, I wonder if their heavenly state of grace has diminished their literary rivalry. If not, they may be keeping a keen eye on their box-office grosses.

Fantasy Movie News: Song of Ice and Fire Movie

George R.R. Martin posted some news regarding the adaptation of his Song Of Ice And Fire series on his Not A Blog.
David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have turned in the second draft of the pilot script for A GAME OF THRONES, and their rewrite is presently being read and evaluated by the powers-that-be at HBO. Also: HBO has reached agreement with the BBC for them to come in as a partner on the series... IF it goes ahead.

Fantasy Movie News: Hobbit Movie Cast

Telegraph.co.uk: Sir Ian McKellen will reprise the role of Gandalf the wizard for two films to be made based on Tolkien's classic book The Hobbit, it has been confirmed. The two movies - The Hobbit and a sequel which has yet to be named - will be filmed in New Zealand and released in 2011 and 2012.

Andy Serkis, the actor who played Gollum with the help of digital wizardry, will also return for the Hobbit film, but other characters have yet to be decided.
